In line with the Year of Languages celebrations, the Language Engagement Project is organizing an event themed “Taste of Languages” to celebrate Mother Language Day*. The event highlights activities, games, puzzles, and other experiences that create language engagement opportunities for Rutgers undergraduate students.

*International Mother Language Day is celebrated annually on February 21st, "to promote the preservation and protection of all languages used by peoples of the world." It was first announced by UNESCO in 1999 as an opportunity to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and to celebrate the unique linguistic heritage of all individuals. The day is intended to promote the use of mother languages as a means of communication, education, and cultural expression, and to raise awareness about the importance of preserving endangered languages.
